How it works
Rounding both punches changes totals
With nearest-15-minute rounding, 09:07–17:08 becomes 09:00–17:15: 8 hours 15 minutes instead of 8 hours 1 minute before breaks. Compare rounded and unrounded entries to see the effect of your chosen policy.
Reviewing shifts, breaks, and overtime
A time card estimate depends on the recorded start and end of each shift, unpaid breaks, and the overtime assumptions selected. Use dated shifts when the calendar position matters. Compare regular and overtime totals with the underlying entries to catch an overnight or break error. The calculation follows the supplied rules and does not certify payroll compliance for a particular employer or jurisdiction.
Weekly time card: formula and assumptions
Pay = regular hours×rate + overtime hours×rate×multiplier.
This is a configurable weekly estimate. Daily overtime, break rules, exemptions, and local employment law are not automatically modeled.
Dated shifts & overtime: formula and assumptions
Pay = regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier.
Rounding applies independently to each clock punch; breaks remain unrounded. Daily overtime aggregates shifts by their starting work date. Weekly mode accepts one seven-day workweek.

Using the Weekly time card example:
- Shifts: start, end, break minutes
- 09:00,17:30,30 09:00,17:00,30
- Hourly pay ($)
- 25
- Weekly overtime threshold (hours)
- 40
- Overtime multiplier
- 1.5
Pay = regular hours×rate + overtime hours×rate×multiplier.

Common questions
Does the estimate apply every local overtime rule?
No. Overtime thresholds and multipliers are configurable assumptions. Legal exemptions, break requirements and other employment rules are not determined automatically.
How does rounding affect dated shifts?
Rounding is applied separately to each clock punch. Break durations remain unrounded, and daily overtime groups shifts by their starting work date.
