How it works
The pay-cycle label changes annual income
A gross payment of 2,000 every two weeks models 52,000 annually, while 2,000 twice monthly models 48,000. Confirm the cycle before comparing offers; “twice a month” and “every two weeks” differ by two modeled payments.
Comparing pay across different periods
An hourly, monthly, and annual salary comparison depends on the work schedule assumed. Check working days, hours, and nonworking days before comparing offers. A simple period conversion does not automatically account for overtime, variable shifts, benefits, or tax withholding. Use the pay-period mode when the calendar or number of paid periods is central to the question.
Pay conversion: formula and assumptions
Annualize the entered pay using 52 weeks, 26 biweekly periods, 24 semimonthly periods, or 12 months.
Gross conversions exclude taxes and deductions. Unpaid leave is deducted in the adjusted comparison.
Pay periods & nonworking days: formula and assumptions
Annualize by pay frequency; adjusted earnings use annual workdays minus nonoverlapping unpaid days.
Quarterly pay has four periods. Reduced-workday earnings are a separate scenario; paid leave does not automatically reduce a fixed annual salary.

Common questions
Why do biweekly and semimonthly pay differ?
Annualization uses 26 biweekly periods and 24 semimonthly periods. Quarterly pay uses four periods.
Do holidays and vacation automatically reduce annual salary?
Only the separate unpaid-day scenario reduces earnings. Paid leave does not automatically reduce a fixed annual salary.
Is the converted salary my take-home pay?
No. These are gross-pay conversions before taxes, benefits and payroll deductions.
