Average Calculator
Calculate the mean of a number list and compare it with the median, range and other measures of the dataset's spread.
Confidence Interval Calculator
Estimate a confidence interval for a mean using Student t or normal z assumptions, sample size and standard deviation.
Mean, Median, Mode, Range Calculator
Find mean, median, mode and range from a dataset and compare what each measure reveals about its center and spread.
Number Sequence Calculator
Generate arithmetic, geometric and Fibonacci sequences or find a selected term and series sum with explicit index conventions.
P-value Calculator
Find tail probabilities from z, t, chi-square or F statistics, with required degrees of freedom and normal inverse-probability options.
Permutation and Combination Calculator
Count ordered selections and unordered groups of distinct objects without replacement, using permutation and combination formulas.
Probability Calculator
Explore event unions and intersections, solve independent-event constraints, model repeated trials or calculate normal probabilities.
Sample Size Calculator
Estimate a survey proportion's sample size or margin of error, with confidence, expected proportion and finite-population assumptions.
Standard Deviation Calculator
Calculate sample and population standard deviation and variance from a number list, with the different denominators explained.
Statistics Calculator
Summarize a numeric dataset with measures of center, spread and distribution, including sample and population variance.
Z-score Calculator
Standardize a value as a z-score, explore normal tail probabilities or recover a boundary from a known normal probability.
Choosing a statistical summary or probability model
Descriptive tools summarize the dataset entered, while inferential tools use additional assumptions to estimate uncertainty or evaluate a model. Check whether the question concerns a typical value, variation, a probability, or sampling precision. These questions require different inputs and should not be answered with the same headline statistic.
Review sample versus population conventions and any distribution or independence assumptions. A precise arithmetic output does not correct biased data collection. Keep the original data and study context alongside the calculated result so that a statistical quantity is not interpreted more broadly than its model allows.

| Choose a method | Inputs | Method |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Deviation Calculator Dataset summary |
| Mean = Σx / n; population variance = Σ(x − mean)² / n; sample variance uses n − 1. How it works |
| Confidence Interval Calculator Mean confidence interval |
| Interval = mean ± critical value × standard deviation / √n. How it works |
