- Converted amount (EUR)
- 92
- Entered rate
- 1 USD = 0.92 EUR
How it works
Reverse the rate as well as currencies
If one unit of A buys 0.80 units of B, the reverse rate is 1.25, not 0.80. In manual mode, use target-currency units per source unit; provider fees remain a separate comparison.
Reading an exchange-rate result
Select the conversion mode according to whether you want an entered rate, a dated reference rate, or a supported spot quote. Check the source and timestamp shown with the result. A reference conversion is not a promise that a bank or payment provider will offer that amount. Fees, spreads, settlement timing, and unsupported dates can affect an actual exchange.
Exchange-rate conversion: formula and assumptions
Converted amount = source amount × exchange rate.
The displayed rate is an editable example, not a live market quote. Enter a current rate from your chosen provider.
ECB daily reference rates: formula and assumptions
Cross rate=ECB target-per-euro rate / ECB source-per-euro rate. Converted amount=amount×cross rate.
Source: European Central Bank, available free from its website. Finflo derives cross rates from the euro-based data. These are daily informational reference rates, not real-time or transaction quotes. The result shows the observation date and retrieval time. Only the generic rate feed is requested; your amount and selected currencies stay in the browser.
Global dated reference and spot quotes: formula and assumptions
Converted amount = amount × USD per source unit / USD per target unit.
Broad daily official-reference blends are delivered by Frankfurter. Bitcoin uses a separate Coinbase spot snapshot; Chilean UF uses the SII daily value crossed through CLP. Source and observation dates remain visible. Legacy codes need a dated manual rate; no live trading or transaction quote is implied.
Worked example
Using the Exchange-rate conversion example:
- Amount in source currency
- 100
- Source currency
- USD
- Target currency
- EUR
- Target currency per source unit
- 0.92
Converted amount = source amount × exchange rate.
Example result
Converted amount (EUR): 92
Entered rate: 1 USD = 0.92 EUR

What to keep in mind
Choose an entered exchange rate, the ECB daily reference, or the broader dated-reference mode. The broader mode uses Frankfurter provider blends, a Coinbase Bitcoin spot snapshot and the SII daily UF value crossed through CLP.
Observation dates can differ between currencies and underlying providers. Provider attribution, excluded contributors, peg-derived references and retrieval time are shown where available.
Reference and spot snapshots exclude transaction fees, bank spreads and convertibility restrictions. Unavailable or obsolete instruments require an explicitly dated manual rate.
Conversion runs locally. Only generic rate snapshots are requested from the server; the amount and selected currencies are not sent to rate providers.

Common questions
Are ECB reference rates live transaction quotes?
No. They are dated informational reference rates. Banks and payment providers may use different rates, spreads, fees or settlement times.
Are my amount and currency choices sent to the rate provider?
No. The site fetches a generic reference-rate feed; your selected currencies and amount are used for conversion in the browser.
