How it works
Calculate the return route separately
A return journey need not match the outward mileage because one-way streets and access restrictions can change the route. Reverse the origin and destination and calculate again before doubling a one-way figure for a travel or fuel estimate.
Checking the route behind a mileage result
Driving mileage comes from the selected locations and the route returned by the map provider. Check the start and destination details before interpreting the distance, especially when several places share a name. Road distance is different from a straight-line geographic measurement. Provider availability, road data, and route choices can affect the result, and the estimate does not establish actual travel conditions.
Driving route: formula and assumptions
Road distance comes from a routed path on the OpenStreetMap road network; miles = meters / 1609.344.
Search for each location and select the intended match, or enter coordinates. Route calculation requires an internet connection. Place searches and route coordinates are sent to map providers through Finflo. Driving time excludes live traffic, stops and current road closures.
What to keep in mind
Choose a precise address or entrance when possible. A town-centre match can differ from your intended start or destination.

Common questions
Is this straight-line distance?
No. The route follows mapped roads. If a driving route is unavailable, Finflo shows an error instead of substituting straight-line distance.
Does the time include traffic?
Driving time uses the routing model without live traffic, current closures or stops. Check local conditions before traveling.
Why must I select a search result?
Place names can have several matches. Choose the full address or location that you mean, then check the road-matched coordinates shown in the result.
